Nancy Sargent Howell.

Nancy Sargent Howell gave us a colorful, detailed, informative and entertaining demonstration at our April 8 meeting.

Over 30 attendees were very engaged with her presentation of how she develops her paintings.

Nancy used some small photos to establish the drawing of her subject, a single magnolia blossom.

Using a limited palette of six colors, three or four brushes, she magically created a wonderful watercolor, almost a portrait.

 Marge Wagner was thrilled to be the lucky winner of the demo artwork.

Nancy was so well received, we hope to be able to have her return for an encore performance.

Max Verga showed us one of the pieces for the project being developed by the Quilting Club and the Art Association.
We have given a number of paintings on cloth to the Quilting Club to be incorporated into their finished pieces. 
Nancy Kelly painted a flower on cloth that Max surrounded with a quilted border to produce a very attractive combination artwork.
All the finished pieces will be displayed and sold at the upcoming Craft Fair.

Edwina Caci Portrait Demonstration - March 11, 2015.

Bob Weikel won our raffle and was Edwina Caci's model for her oil painting portrait demonstration at our March 11 meeting.

She produced a two hour portrait which she said was only a sketch but we all thought it was truly magical.Edwina is small in stature but really big in talent.

We had a very attentive and good sized audience.

About 40 were pleased that we were able to reschedule her after the February snows forced a cancellation of her February 11th demo.

Bob received an extra bonus with his portrait when Edwina offered to take it back to her studio and add some finishing touches.

We will try and get some photos of it when it is returned to Bob so we can see the results of her work.

On Wednesday, April 8, we will welcome Nancy Sargent Howell as our guest artist.

Nancy is a signature member of the New England Watercolor Society, (Past President), the North River Arts Society (President), the South Shore Art Center, the Plymouth Guild of Artists and is the past Vice President of the Copley Society of Art.

She teaches workshops and classes in watercolor, acrylics and the creative process
.
She has led numerous painting trips to France, Italy, Spain and Belgium and has juried many local art exhibitions.

Her work has won numerous awards and can be found in private and corporate art collections.
